Cheese please

Eden's request for the day was "cheese please, cheese, CHEESE" at about 6 tonight Eden was asking for cottage cheese . . . one of her favorite foods. The unfortunate part of this was that she had to wait 45 mins for the "cheese" to be delivered. I ordered extra so that I would be prepared for tomorrow but she ate both bowls and I will be ordering more at breakfast. We are thankful that she is hungry and finally showing an interest in eating.

The "pokes" of chemo have not shown any signs of immediate side effects. We are so thankful for that. The pokes were hard for Eden and Dad and Mom but she did earn some stickers that she wore all day and is still wearing.

"Going Home" as Eden would say. We are still not sure if we will be able to go home or not until later in the week. We pray that the Drs will make the right decision and we will be comfortable with their decision.

As you pray please pray for
-Eden's friend Ava that will be getting some answers tomorrow
-the Drs as they decide when we will be able to go home
-no side effects from the treatment

love you all

P.S. Tell Daddy to check in the mechanical room for some red paint, it sounds like the wagon could use a paint job. :)

  8. Kurt, Selena and Eden,
Just wanted you to know that we are praying for your sweet family.
While our children have never had luekemia, we did spend 5 1/2 months straight in IICU at Children's hospital in Seattle, WA with our son when he was 10 weeks old. Today, he is a month away from 14. It was the darkest period of our lives but God's grace kept us in His perfect care. We think of you often since learning of sweet Eden from John and Nichole Gruber, and will lift you all up faithfully as God has His hand firmly on you all.
As a Mom and a Dad this is excruciating I know, so we will pray for your strength and stamina so that neither of you will get worn out and sick as you put all your energy into caring for your baby girl.

May God sustain and love you thoroughly,
    Brian and Kimberly Gibson
    Graham, WA

  14. Eden,

May you not have to wait too long for your cheese and that you get better very soon. I am a cheese lover myself and do not like to wait for it (especially for 45 minutes). We are praying that you have no side effects and can go home soon. Cheese always tastes better at home. We also put in some prayers for your friend Ava.

  15. Hi Kurt & Selena,

Thank you so much for keeping us all updated through this blog. We are sending lots of prayers your way from New Mexico. Eden sounds just like our little miniature weiner dogs, Minnie and Smokey, in her love of cheese! :) One of them has to take a pill every morning and the only way to get him to do it is to put it in some cheese...so they both get a chunk every morning and they get so excited! they also love cottage cheese, which they've gotten a few times following their incessant begging! :) We have no will power!

We'll be reading often and hope to hear you are home soon!

    Love,

    Jill & James

  16. Selena, Kurt, and Eden,

Mom and Dad (Arlan and Flo) called to tell us Eden had not been feeling well which led to her diagnosis. As parents, we can't imagine what you and your little girl are going through. It makes our trials seem minor compared to what God has just laid upon you. b A saying that helps us when we think God has given us a challenge we feel to large to bear is "God never gives us more that we can handle!" He is always with us through every trial and triumph! He will carry all of you through this! A little boy I had in my child care for 2 years was just diagnosed on his fourth birthday with stage 4 neuroblastoma. We check the computer every night to keep up-to-date on his progress. We will be sure to check Eden's website also every day to keep up-to-date on her progress as well. We are praying for all of you. Thank you for the frequent posts, it helps to keep us close to you and your journey. You are all in our thoughts and prayers!!! Love, The Schneiders' (Gary, Brenda, Brandon, Alesha, Bre, Tyler, Haley, and Hunter)
