Treatment Friday

Thanks for your prayers about today. We had a pretty good trip up to Iowa City this morning. As you may remember, one of my biggest concerns about today was that Eden was not able to eat breakfast in preparation for our trip. Well, she did great! Only a few request for soup. She had chemo in her spine, bone marrow and her routine labs. After waiting for a call from the Dr this afternoon her bone marrow showed cancer cells between 1-2%. Hoorrrrayyyy! We will not have the results from the bone marrow they took regarding remission until Tuesday. So, please keep praying. The test of her spinal fluid once again is normal. We also got news today that it was the last day for steroids for now. Hopefully, we will be able to spend some time out of the kitchen.

A thirty minute nap on the way home will tide Eden over until bedtime today. When we got home she was ready for some more soup! We spent the afternoon talking about the day and waiting for Dad to come home from work. The highlight of the day for both Eden and Dad.

Please pray that Eden will return to being a toddler . . . I just want her to show an interest in playing. Her interests now are limited to eating, reading books, & watching videos (in that order). I just want some normalacy in that area. Thanks for praying!

  3. We have been in Las Vegas, so we were glad to read the post that Edan's treatment went very well. Her new "Do" is adorable. Sounds like the treatments are doing their job. Now we hope and pray she will get that cute red hair back and resume that normal toddler play real soon. Always praying for your family to keep that spirit at a zenith for Edan and the entire family to get back to a more normal life. Oh forgot to tell you, if you have a 2 year old in the house nothing is normal again. Warm wishes from Larry and Judy Rhamy

  4. Well, you know I am partial to short hair! Eden's curly red hair looks great short, too! We're excited to hear more good news about the treatments and how Eden is handling everything. God's grace in these seasons of turmoil! Hugs (that won't make anyone sick), Carolynn

  5. Kurt and Selena,
I know I get updates at work from Kurt but wanted to let you know again that if you ever want to use one of our portable DVD players just say the word. The girls don't use them much so they are just stuck in a drawer. It might help keep Eden's mind off of food for the trip!!! lol!! So glad for the good news and Selena don't ever feel bad about calling in to the office, I am happy to answer your calls all day long and transfer them back!!! Keep the faith and we will keep on praying for Eden!!

  8. Despite how it might seem like a hassel to type an up-to-date note on this everyday, it is really nice Kurt & Selena to be able to know how things are going so that I can praise and pray. I'm happy things are internally looking positive depsite how hard it is to see the external profiles. But it is just a reminder that man looks at the outward appearance, yet the Lord looks at the heart! You're on a my mind a lot! Have happy valentines day!

p.s. I don't know whose idea it was to get the wrist bands that say "pray for EDEN" but my mom gave me one this weekend when she came up and I love it and don't take it off!! GOD IS IN CONTROL!
