over night stay

Sorry we haven't updated for a while! Eden's blood counts were very good today, so we were able to get admitted for treatment (we couldn't the past 2 weeks due to low blood counts). Her white count was up to ~3, and the rest were all good. Eden finally got to see one of her favorite nurses, Mary Lou!! Mary Lou wasn't supposed to be taking care of Eden this morning, however, she made some time to play with Eden. Mary Lou rocks!!! The worst part about today, was the wait to get into a room, and the wait lasted until around 4pm. We have a roommate, but she's older and we hardly know she's in the room. Eden's been doing really well, so our roommate hardly knows Eden's in the room. Eden was finally able to receive an oral dose of chemo this evening around 7pm or so, then she also got some through the IV around 9pm or so. The wait has been due to her ability to get lots of fluids into her body, so that's why they hook her up to fluids via IV. Mom and Eden are currently sleeping, in a big girl bed, together. Mom was with her all day long, and told me she'd "take the bed with Eden". I wasn't going to argue, since they both need sleep pretty bad (Eden didn't nap today at all). Tonight we have to change Eden's diaper every 2 hrs, but she normally sleeps through the changes, so that's nice!!!

Thanks so much for continuing to check in on our progress! Love you all.

  2. Good morning my friends! I know it takes time to sit and write your posts but this morning I was very thankful for an update. Yesterday I took a prayer walk at CCC and was praying pretty hare for Eden and Nathan Detweiller. Even though I kept getting distracted by squirrels and Pete PULLING me rather than walking with me I talked our loud to God. I had a pretty serious conversation with him about good people getting sick and it's just not fair. I told him that Eden has wonderful parents that are going to raise her up so she can become a wonderful young woman and a great asset to society. I told him that Eden and Nathan must be okay and that he needs to make that happen because they need to spread the word of love, their love, familly love and God's love.

If someone were hiding behind the bushes they would think I was a bit nuts talking out loud to who...the dog. Anyway, God will keep blessing you and wrapping little Eden in his arms. He loves you, I love you and your community loves you. Please know that I think about you all the time!

  3. You are in our prayers daily, our thoughts are with you always. Our church continues to hold Eden up in prayer. So happy to hear of Eden's being a happy little girl, even with all she has gone through. She is an inspiration to all of us who love her, and her parents too. God's blessings to you as you continue down the path to a healing. Love all of you, Aunt Mary and Uncle Heinz
