Eden has successfully completed her first round (last week & this week) of pokes at home and she handled them unbelievably well. Her mom and I really wish we could take 100% of the pain Eden has had to endure, obviously, we can't, and therefore, we are so thankful that she's been such a trooper when she has to have a poke. When I get a poke, I cry before, during and after the procedure, Eden on the other hand, only cries from the time the nurse cleans the skin to about 10 seconds after the poke is over.
This past weekend was a good one for our family. We were able to stay home, get a few chores done, spent some time with friends and half our family, and best of all, Eden was herself. We baked lots of cookies in front of her pink kitchen, she got to play with Molly (our friend's little white dog), she smiled and laughed a lot and so that was joy we can not easily describe. Saying it's so great to see her laugh and play seems silly, but when you're dealing with life day by day, a good day is the best thing you can ask for!!!!! We're so very thankful we haven't had too many bad days. Of course, that's not to say this has been a cake walk, but we believe that the steps we've taken (being clean freaks) have helped Eden from getting a fever or something else that'd earn us a trip to the hospital for 5-7 days. Finally, I'd like to send a shout out for all you who are reading our blog, thinking about and praying for us, sending food and/or gifts, and anything i forgot to mention. We're truly appreciative for it all!
Praise God that a few of Eden's new little friends from the hospital have been having some good news lately in their battles with cancer.

Yipee!!! Great job on your pokes Eden!! You, too Dad and Mom!! How hard to see your little girl hurting! God feel the same way about you guys. Knows your pain and tears and feels them, yet must allow you to "take" them. For reasons of Godliness and glory which we cannot know this side of heaven, this is your road with all of its "pokes". In john 17 when Jesus prays for His disciples, He asks that God not take them out of the world, but hold them as they walk in it. So that is my prayer for you.. that God would hold you up in this world that threatens to bring you down. Love and Prayers, The Jeffreys
ReplyDeleteKurt and Selena, it is so great to hear that Eden is doing so well through all of her pokes and visits to the hospital. It is also so awesome to see how God is giving you both the strength and courage to get through each and every part of this unexpected journey that you are on with your beautiful little girl! So I pray that God continues to give you the strength and courage to get through each and every day. And that He continues to keep His hand upon Eden, and to keep her healthy so that she can continue to be the fun, cute, full of energy, little girl that He created her to be! I hope that the weather man was right about the 50 degree weather that he talked about for the middle of the week. So that you can get Eden out on some nice long walks and get some fresh air! Praise God spring is just around the corner! Enjoy your week and know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers daily! Love the Millers, Scott Rochelle Cierra and Jacob

We are happy to hear that things are going well thus far. Eden is quite the trooper going through all of this chemo and the pokes. She is very fortunate to have such caring and loving parents by her side. We look forward to the blogs to learn how things are going for both Eden and mom and dad. We continue to hold you in our hearts with love and in prayer each and every day. Love and hugs, Aunt Mary & Uncle Heinz
